I was looking at the Meguiar's headlight restoration kit, and wanted to know if anyone else has tried it. I need to clean up my headlights, they are a little foggy.

I tried 3M's restoration kit with really good results.
The pads on the Meguiars kit don't look like they are aggressive enough to get good results.
I removed the headlights completely and took my time, about 2 hours, when I did mine.

I saw theirs as well. I will go check them all out and see how i feel about picking up one. Thanks

Mine had horrible yellowing, built up wax form previous owner, and pitting. I used Mothers PowerBall 4Lights Headlight Restoration Kit with the wetsand method and worked great. Jost gotta be careful doing the wetsanding.

There have been many posts, with great instructions and pictures about this topic. And, there are 3-4 brands like Simonize, Meguiar's etc selling kits. While I love the DIY approach factor in the time to do it well and the cost of the kits then think about the option of having a "detail shop" do it for you. I'm ok with a little hand polishing to clean up some hazing but at this point in my life I'm just not into sanding and polishing for 4 hours. But that's me ...

For me it was more about the learning process. A tech at an independent shop noticed how hazy my headlights were and offered to restore them for $50 under the table, very reasonable, when I went to get an oil change but I decided to just do it myself and learn how.

hmmmmm that is another option. I don't necessarily have a preference. I can do it myself or have someone do it. Kinda depends how i feel. I know i'm about to mapquest that place and see how far it is from my house LOL Thanks for that
