Headlight bulb

do i tell the deal my bulbs are out and i need a reflash? i dont know why i have to do that if the bulb is out. im just curious because i jsut passed 50k and i dont have warranty anymore.. thanks for all your help

i believe that's your situation. there's a bug in e60 idrive system that causes both eyes to stop working. might want to ask your service advisor first.
You don't have to pull the light, and Erick is right in saying its a malfunction of the system. Mine were out when I got the car and they had to change the LCM and reprogram the car in order for the lights to function properly. I would tell the dealer they need to fix the lights for free since you might not pass inspection in some states without those lights on.

ok i went to the dealer and they told me inorder to change that bulb i need to purchase a whole new headlight assemble...... which was over 2k.... did anyone change these bulbs out? its the eyebrow orange light..... please help

After reading this...It turns out that my 06' E60 has the same problem....does anybody know if the 06' 525xi came with the eyes lids? I see the LED lights on the sides of the eye lids but i am not sure if its the same as mentioned by Ey2001. I still have warranty on my car so im not worried about taking it in for an idrive refresh, but just dont' want to make a trip to the dealer because he's about 25miles away for no reason.
