AFAIK, the line that controls that valve is in the trunk, at least that's where it is on the 3 series...
You can do the golf tee mod by plugging the hose near the muffler with a tee/screw or by crimping it with a twist tie. You can also just unplug the wire that controls the flapper which is located right by the left rear tail light. The 335i has a small panel door that allows very easy access. Our 535i does not have the little panel door so you have to remove the left panel in the trunk to get to the wire harness. When I removed both twist screws the panel would still not come off, but I could pull it enough to see (but not unplug) the wire harness that controls the flapper. My question is when I remove the two twist screws, what else do I need to do to get the left trunk panel to pop off? It feels like something else is holding it in place but I can't find it.
