Anyone know the proper way or steps to remove the Front Seats??? I want to get to the woofer under the front seat. I can see the rear bolts, but I can't find any front bolts. Also, I'm not sure if I should disconnect the battery, you know in case of any accidental electrical discharge.....Thanks in advance!!!.....

Hi guy,
Please ask Rudy for subwoofer replacement and installation procedure which include front seat removal, too.
I removed my subwoofer last weekend and here are my observation:
Subwoofers under front seats are shallow mount subwoofers which is is similar to Earthquake SWS 8" subwoofer. I'll take it out this weekend again to measure exact dimension so I can replace it with Earthquake 8" or 10" ones.
I felt so disappointed and helpless after spending a week to do research on updating my sound system and found out that BMW uses special shallow subwoofer and that was why I put it back w/o measuring any dimension at all. Yesterday, I accidentially found both Pioneer and Earthquake Sound make shallow subwoofer which is perfect for E60.

Coastal CV,
If you take out your sub, would you please measure the mounting depth, mounting diameter, top face diameter?
Thanks.

My Ride: Titanium Silver 2004 525i, style 116 alloys,
Can anyone tell me if, in cars without the underseat subs (standard sound system in Europe) the seat is already wired for the sub and if it is just a matter of bolting one in?
Thanks
Thanks

Eddie, do you have the Premium Audio (Logic 7) system? If so, you have the subs under the seat. I can't remember if the subs are there on the standard system in the US...
The following thread is a good read on the audio system and subwoofers in the E60:
