Do not change the door seal, wast of money, spend your money on other mods

This is the best and cheepest way to Fix the nosie coming from the door seals after they get old.
I aplly this about every 6 months and itis hot and dry in HK

1. All you need is to get a bottla of the Vaseline a few dollar.

2. On top of the each door there is a door seal and this is were the part starts to dry out and make loads of nosie in a few years time after the car gets abit old.

3. Use the Vaseline with your fingers on the top of the door seal.

4. Apply on the hole of the door seal

I also apply it to all the door rubbers too so that they will last alot longer and they do not go hard or trun white.

Wanderful. And the even better news is that I talked to the BMW dealer in my area. Given my warranty expired only 3 months ago, they agreed to replace the old door seals for free. Will do it next Friday. If that does not work, now I know what to do next... THANKS!

I tried this Vazeline tonight and it worked wanderfully well. I have to say I am surprised by this. I did try cleaning the door seals (tried using water, also tried 3M's adhesive remover) but none worked. The 3M adhesive remover actually made the squeaking worse. The Vazeline made all the door seals quiet, at least for now. Now all I am hearing is the squeaking noise from either my seat or the back shelf ;-) when I make turns. Not sure if there is way as easy as Vazeline to fix that.

How long do you think one treatment of Vazeline will last?

Also, how much Vazeline do you put in there? The more the better, as long as one's stomach can handle?

maybe I sould sell the Vazeline to 3M
I have apllyed my car for over 6 months now and still no noise. so I would just say more than a year maybe.
I tell you in about 6 months time and see if the noise comes back.
