I have 2007 550i with SMG, Comfort Access, HUD, Cold Weather Package, and Logic 7 sound system. I recently bought the dension kit and have read several different posting on how to install the kit. I have looked in my glove box and have found the two power wires for the cd changer but have not found the fiber optic cable. I have seen other people on this forum have the same situation but no one has posted a definitive answer to whether the wire is tucked away somewhere or if you need to buy the fiber optic wire and rout it from the back of the radio to the glove box. In the original invoice for the car it says it's pre-wired for the cd changer. Does this mean the fiber optic cable is installed already? I would greaty appreciate an answer from those who have a similar model year as most of the information on ipod installs seems to be from vehicle that are older than 2007. I will post pics of my glove as soon as I can to show the two wires.

Post pics as this should help someone answer your question. The fibre optic cable is in a loop and has some little box which is taped around.

Can you tell me where the power leads come from, lead to? i can't seem to find the black plug that goes to the CD Changer (Mine did not come with a CD Changer). I looked all around and can't find that nor the Green Fiber Optic Cables.
Thanks

My car was pre-wired for the cd-changer. You need to find out if your car is pre-wired. If itis not pre-wired then that's the reason you can;t find the cables. There were two sets of thick wires in the glove box behind the plate with the two knobs . The green fiber optic wire is wrapped in the cloth tape. The power cord should be just laying there with a red and brown wire right before the plastic adapter piece.

Thanks ironb. I'm guessing my car might not be pre-wired. I have been looking for those wires for hours.... flashlight and mirrors and all. I'm gonna find out before continuing a wild goose chase. Thanks for the tip!
