I have heard there have been several updates to the e60's gearbox software.
How do I do this myself, and is it safe to do so? (I have a K+DCAN cable & my e60 is a DEC 2004 530d msport auto)

1.Check your ilevel status with DIS
2.Copy E60 folder from Progman to local machine
3.Import to winkfpt PABD,P-SGBD and Assembly line data from exported folder.
4.Choose "comfort mode"
5.Find your Zbnumber with DIS or INPA
6.Choose "enter ZUSB" type your ZBNumber wich already find it.
7.Choose "enterVIN" and enter your 7 digit VIN.
8.Update your gearbox.
9.Complete encoder your car and that's it.
Regards!

I don't have DIS or Progman, I only have INPA & NCSExpert. Is this the only method of updating gearbox software?

I may have to explore the software you mentioned first, then I'll give this a go.
How long does the coding take for this update alone - will it require a battery charger?
