Hi world,

I have been reading about how to code your E60 but before I jump into the pool, I need to know if I can code the following:

1) side mirrors folding upon locking. (I'm not sure if my car has electrical folding mirrors)
2) front windows down while in reverse - this would be very cool. I've seen this in mercedes.

Also, please tell me more features that I can code on 2006 550i. Thanks

First thing is first. You can code your car for folding mirrors but your mirrors will not fold because you do not have mirrors capable of folding. Unless someone already retrofitted the car (previous owner) and if that were the case I would assume the feature would already work.

But the answer to your first question is, yes if you were able to get the folding mirrors and hook them up, add the option to your VO, then you could code it.
As for the second question, rolling down the windows while in reverse.... I do not think there is a line of code supporting that in your car and so my answer would be no.<br class="Apple-interchange-newline">
To answer your last question, I wouldn't chance the cable. Sure it's cheap but from experience you get what you pay for. For me, I would up with a dead ECU and out two cables. 3x a charm finally got a good OE cable with lifetime warranty. You can find software online but most of it is all messed up and so I didn't chance that either. Come out of pocket less then $200 once or making multiple trips to the $tealer was a no brainer for me.

My cable was sitting in the glove box for months and now I wanted to start coding.
I have 2006 550i, Do I need OBD cable or OBD2 cable?

I think I ordered OBD2.
