My Ride: BMW 545i MY05 week 6 Mystic Blue / Black Dakota Steptronic, Sport Package, Active Steering, Dynamic Drive, ProNav, HUD
Default

Forum Folk,

I have a couple of question re. changing out my '05-545i summer tires for winter ones. I am pretty much a neophyte here, so any help would be appreciated.

- given the wheel/tire sizes will change - do I need to get an allignment?

- I understand that most folks would favour a better jack. I am looking at a trolley-type jack with round supports. Where are the jack points on the E60 that I should be using?

Thank you...

The change in wheel / tire size shouldn't affect your alignment. If you have stright steering and your car is not going stright you will need an alignment.

The jack point location should be in the manual, if not look around the side for circle or square spot, a place where your jack goes in nicely. If you can't spot it feel it with your hands.

The original jack will be fine for the job as long as you chop your wheels.

Hope this help.
