I did say I would never do a diy for this due to how much of a pain it is to fit the mirrors but here we go, attached is the PDF.
Please bear in mind this DIY assumes you have an E60 made between sept/2005 and march/2008.

A suggestion to make things easier on the passenger's side. Don't bother with the bulk head and new wires. Just disconnect the 4 wires used for the old mirrors from the KGM and rewire them as LIN, +12V and GND. That way massively reduces the install time. Also if you don't want to upset any of the existing fuse wires, you can simply install a new fuse in one of the many free slots and use a Double leaf contact to gain access to it.
Oh! and you can ignore buying a new button panel for the Driver's side. Just code the mirrors to fold and unfold with your key fob. However please be warned that with this solution you can never start your car with the mirrors folded because the moment you unlock your car the mirrors will unfold as well. If you can live with that, that's some more money and time saved.
Does anyone know what will happen if I connect two button panels i.e. a RHD driver and a LHD driver? Want to get access to all windows from both sides.
