Hi,

I am not sure if this stop to prevent errors on IDRIVE or not (it should as you going to turned off bulb check).
I didn't have to turn off bulb check in my system but my HID had extra resistor and relay. I bought them from John@Motorcepts and they came with John extra wiring, resistor and relay. They are working fine for over 2 years now and I never had any throuble with them. I did install them myself following John guide.

Thanks,
Peter

I agree with Simon

I personally use H3 LED bulbs ( 18 SMD LEDs total ) on my customers cars for the back up lights ,, amazing and a lot brighter than the stock ,

the HID is amazing as well ,, so its just a different taste

Are relays necessary to prevent damage to any wiring?

Condisdering the HIDs shouldnt be on for prolonged periods of time, the wires shouldnt heat up terribly?

Quick question about the turning on/off the reverse HIDs.
Is is not possible to just wire up the positive to the actual reverse light signal instead of the lighter?
Just so that they come on/off only when going into reverse?
Or will that trigger errors due to different voltage etc.?

You can do it that way as well. Going to the lighter connection is to allow you to have a trigger to turn it on any time the car is on.

That's what I thought. Just looking at the install pics and not sure where I could put the ballasts since I have the Bruce cables already taking all the space under the tail lights.

On the side. There's plenty of room.
