I installed my HID lowbeams today that just came in the mail from John (Brabusw209amg). They look absolutely fantastic and are well worth the price. These can be installed WITHOUT removing any screws, but I opted to follow the DIY (great, and very detailed BTW) and remove the headlamps though. I tested the new HID's before removing the lights, but removed the headlamps to conceal the ballasts.

Now I just need to figure out how to aim the headlights a little bit lower since I was "flashed" by a couple oncoming cars this evening. LOL

thanks again!

Don't want to spoil the fun, but your HID bulbs are meant for lense type units and will produce too much glare. See HIDs4U site in earlier post #19 and look for anti glare bulbs which should work on your existing ballasts. Bulbs should be shaded type for reflector units. Post #10 doesn't sound very promising either.

Installing my hids now with this DIY. and it looks like you drilled a hole in the high beam cover, not the low beam.

Or are the covers different for LCI models?

Cause on my 2008, that cover is for the high beams.

The cover is different for LCI but concept is EXACTLY the same.

Ok, I got a spot for the ballast. New problem though, they dont work. It works when I plug in one at a time, but not when both are plugged in. I get a headlight error message. Whats going on...

Finally coming back to this to try again. I did buy from John, thanks for the snarky reply though. It seems he was on vacation when I tried to contact him, going to try again.
