Default Disable e60 Seatbelt Gong.

Hello,

I have an 05 545i and use ncs expert for coding. I was wondering if anyone know the code to disable the seatbelt gong. I've searched the forum but can't find one. I'm aware that it will still gong, but only twice.

Thank you.

you can buy a seatbelt plugin thing (it just slides in your seatbelt receptacle) or have it coded out.

I wish I knew the answer for you (still trying to learn how to code anything) but over at bmwcoding [dot] com they have a very nice list of coding options for our E60's. Hope that helps you!

Curious as to why someone would want to disable this safety feature? I can see if you get in the car and are just pulling up a little and then this annoying noise gongs, but it's supposed to be annoying, this way people will wear it. I've seen the plug in's tricks the system to thinking the belt is connected. Maybe try one of those. Keep in mind, with out your belt connected it can take hardly anything to cause the airbag to deploy, just a small bump/fender bender could possibly do it. I've seen it before. The system knows that you are not secured so it deploys the AB sooner and with less impact. Then you end up with a big mess when it deploys. My luck I would tell someone how to do it and the next day they would be in a horrific crash where the seatbelt would have made a big difference.

This is a controversial subject, so I'll just say that the gong is referred to as the Seat Belt Reminder. There are two settings, one for the Driver and one for the Passenger. HTH.

I did this mod today on my 07/2006 N52 (523i), and the gong is completely gone (not even gongs twice). They (bmw) seem to have moved this option around over the years. I got to it by, in NCS expert, working on the ABG module; the keywords in the trace file are sbr_fahrer_acsm and sbr_beifahrer_acsm. (changed both to nicht_aktiv)

Initially my (very old) sp-daten files were too backlevel and couldn't handle it. Sorted it out by a sp-daten upgrade (to v41).

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the v42 Daten? I haven't been able to find anything more recent than the v41 files.
