Hi !
It seems that there is a difference between US & European standard seats... in fact, in France we have various finitions available for the car. Mine is second level on 4 (excluded options) and my seat are half electrics (only backrest tilt & seat height are electrical, all other settings are manual).
Then I guess that your seats are very near from the one of 1rst post of this thread... whereas mine are like this (excluded the coat hanger option) : http://www.bmw.re/_common/shared/own...oathanger_.jpg
My order has been shipped... should receive it tomorrow or on Monday. You'll have feedback soon.

Hi Matt,
Can you tell me where you got your parts from? I'm in UK looking to carry out this retrofit...I too have the sport seats with the partial electric function (headrest not electric).
Thankyou

Hi
just received mine today.
Reminder for parts
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...52&fg=15&hl=33
So right now I'm facing two problem with standard European headrests:
- diameter of metal "arms" of the headrest is higher that on one in part #5, meaning that a simple remove/replace is not possible
- the plastic clip (under the leather - part #3 in realoem) does not exist on my seats to fix the bracket, that mean that I will need to peel the seat to slide the clip (at this step: http://forums.e60.net/uploads/114306...75_50_4020.jpg)
- the plastic guide (part #4 - my current headrests has a part #5 that has a non sufficent diameter) has a little too big diameter to fit with seat metallic structure but headrest needs this guide (otherwise headrest is not correctly fixed) to be fitted
I will need a little bit more of work with standard European seats compared to you, US guys![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
News as soon as I'm finished thinking more about it![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

Hi !
A seat will either have
- Part 5
OR
- Part 2+3+4
Part 5 is a manual headrest adjustment (base seats in France).
Parts 2+3+4 are related to an electric adjustment.
Part 4 in inside the seat structure and part 5 is in & out.
I successfully upgraded one of my two seats... but it's with some DIY fitting that I will explain (to replace part #4 that does not fit in seat structure)![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

Good to hear that you had upgraded the head rest. We are looking forward to see any photos and more instructions of the upgrade soon.
My seat's head rest are electric so I will be dealing with part #2, 3 and 4.
