I have almost finished integrating my new comfort seats (from standard seats with memory).

The first installation was pretty quick done. Wiring fitted perfekt and I had no error messages. Only thing was, that the widness of the backrest could not be adjusted.

Therefore I brought my car to BMW, which did a complete softwareflash to integrate the seats. I was charged 5 hours work, as they had to get a remote flash from "the engeneering department". After that I now have an error message as it is now recognized, that the gas cartridge in the backrest is not connected to the airbag module (pins 9, 18, 16 and 17). I did that and now the warning message has cleared.

The dealer also advised me, that I have to bring power from the fuse box to X13990 pin 7. However, power was already there. Does anybody know, how I can get the backrest motors to work?

Above some pictures from the wiring work of the Airbag module.

Hi dirk

Have you tried having your vo(vehicle order) changed with the comfort seat option added?

Good luck
frank.

I don't know, what that would imply. I was told, that the programming was done via Internet from BMW Munich.

Since last week, my install is almost perfect. I managed to clear the last Airbag warning, which was due to fired gas cartridges. New cartridges made it possible to clear the error with carsoft.

I would be glad to get any information on how to make the active backrest work!
