performance and CAI unfortunately go hand in hand. There are a few threads regarding CAI's and their proven loss of hp's. If you really want to gain some performance, stick with the stock air box and get a higher quality drop in air filter. You should also look into purchasing an air scoop by RPI.

A quick search under RPI air scoop and AFE CAI will get you more info...GL with you mod choices

*edit: here's the dyno thread: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=63222

I think you posted this in the wrong section. FYI you will loose horse power with a CAI.
Go with RPI's drop in filters and scoops for maximum hp

Any open air intake that requires the removal of the stock air box will result in a loss of power due to heat soak. I used to have dual cone open air intakes and dyno'ed much less than stock! If you do a search using the search bar in the upper right hand corner of the page, you will find MANY posts regarding heat soak and why you will loose power.

If you want my opinion, get the RPi Scoops and the drop in filters. You will gain the most power from Race Precision's set up. Try Pm'ing member nerweezy or trinityautosport for the best deals.
