be carefull, if you fuck up your combi board you gonna spend 600? to replace it
i got a quote for it since mine stopped working some time ago and a few days later it worked again o_O (i already got it ordered so i called the dealer to cancel the order and he wasnt happy about that)
anyway, 600? here in belgium for the combi panel. and you cannot replace it with a second hand one because it contains everything about the car's history! driven miles /km etc so it MUST be a new board if its fucked.
for a new dose cost alot to buy.
you can get a 2nd hand 1 and reprogram it.
also the mileage can be anything you what.
In HK there is a computer that can crack it and put any miles you what.

First of all, don't know why and don't know how to fuck up your cluster.
Even really fucked up. you can bid a 2 hand from ebay just 20?, either go to dealer to re-program or swap the memory chip from your fucked up one to ebay 2 hand one. Just a piece of cake.

WOW fantastic.

If ever I find a secondhand dash display at the breakers for my car, than I would attempt your instructions for the mod. I would give it a trial run before doing it for real on my unit. I am scared my clumsy fingers may break the needles or something.

thanks for the write up and pics.

cheers
