Cell phone holder – how to remove

My Ride: 2008 535i ALS, Nav, Cold Weather package, Premium package, Logic 7

My LCI 535i has the dummy cell phone holder in the center console. I?d like to remove it so I have more space. I can?t see how to get it out and would rather not pay the dealer to remove.

Does anyone know how to remove it without causing damage?
