If you were going to go through all this trouble why didn't you go for the Professional Navigation System directly?

Good point Bruce, and I have already have same idea.
Originally I though that business navi comes with half price and effort. With existing cd-changer business navigation is working solution (based on my experiences from rented e60).
BUT - if I end up to finding an other unit to get it work in my car, it will be pro version with benefits of map view and split screen.

MODS:M-tech front bumper, Painted Grill, Installed Aux-In, Garage Door Opener (Overhead Compartement), ///M Steering wheel, Wood hand brake trim, Wood gear-shift lever. 35% Tint all around..
Got, ACS Roof Spoiler, but not installed..
what seems to be the problem. is it the new m-ask during the update... isnt it possible that the m-ask you bought is not compatible, cause i think the e60 got some wiring changes, around 09/04 so are you sure of the built date of the m-ask.. cuase in one pic is shows the air con icons in the corner, i think those are only on really old PROGMAN software..
i can suggest they try to update ur car with your original hardware, then try your new m-ask...

Your right with M-ASK build date. Its' week 45/2003 and wrong in begining of this thread.
Make sure the next used unit you'll buy, should be no more than 3 part# back in raw, or 2 years older max. than the current (latest part#) for a successful -compatible- retrofit.

Hi drantispy,
I noticed today your thread about navigation retrofit. Sorry to hear about troubles.
My project has been in pause but not forgotten. I had mysterious problem with self-leveling system and I didn't want update PROGMAN with my own cost before that issue was solved. Finally it was repaired with new control unit and Progman was update under the extended warranty.
Now it's time to continue, but I have not had lot of free time recently. I will keep you updated.

Retrofit Completed!!
Coding process took two hours, but it went without any errors. The requirement for successful coding was the latest Progman and after that the process was really straight forward (but slow...). Also Aux-in retrofit was coded same time.
BTW: Coding cost only 120 EUR So total cost for retrofit parts and coding was 600 EUR.
