Is the car a daily driver? How long do you plan on keeping it? IMO stick with all OEM parts unless you plan on taking it to the track. Most of the pads that promise less dust, also have less stopping power or "bite". You can turn the factory rotors, but what was explained to me by my local BMW mechanic was that the rotors are a bit softer and once turned can develop small craters under heavy braking over time. This can lead to warping, which you would have to replace your rotors at that time.

I had my front rotors turned, changed my own pads with Textar Centrics, changed the sensor and haven't had any problems since.

*Remember you can't turn cross drilled or slotted rotors, so once they go be prepared to buy new ones.

If I wanted to do this myself, is there a way I could save on the parts? I can do the work, but if I'm only saving $250, I'll let someone else spend their time doing it.
You'll save more than $250 if you DIY.

Easy DIY for any shade tree mechanic. Check rotor thickness, they may not need replaceing. Rotors typically last for two sets of pads. And while turning them is always a good idea, if they are very smooth with no ridges, it's not always necessary. I've seen a few shops take off more than was needed.

I do like OEM pads. Plenty of places to get them on-line at reasonable prices. I've had a few bad experienes with brake squeal on a new aftermarket pads (mostly on a volvo), but ever since I've stuck to OEM.

You can have the stock rotors turned!! Pads are fairly cheap as well....If you have done brakes before you'll be fine!!!!The brakes are the same as any car....You will just have to buy a new sensor for the front pads...Sensors are about $15...Pads should be around $100....Turning rotors are about $7 each rotor...I bet you could get out for around $150!!
+1, DIY is your best bet. Get the rotors turned and get new pads.

get aftermarket rotor and break pads, you can get solid or slotted rotor if you want, but not drilled, unless you get bramboo $$$
why not drilled
I had them for over 1 year and they are fine.
they were Zimmermann
