Brakes faiiled today down hill need hill

My Ride: BMW 530D M-Sport, Steptronic, Grey Metallic,
Retrofits: Sport Comfort Black Leather, M-Sport Alu Cube Dash Trim, Shadow Line Trim, CCC Pro Nav, Full M5 Conversion, M5 Mirrors, Quad M5, 20" M5 Gloss Black wheels, AC High Panel, Internal Boot Release,
Mods: Xenons, Carbon Fibre Roof, Dension 500, Drilled & Grooved Discs,
Hi giys i was driving down hill today and the engine note changed and exhaust sound went slightly louder
The pedal had gone quite hard and wasnt going down
I managed to luckly use handbrake to slow car down hill and paked the car up
I have checked the brake fluid and its at the correct level the pedal doesnt go fully down and feels still and hard
I checked the vacuum pipes on the turbo and the vacuum line didnt have any suction this indicated that the vacuum is at fault as there was no suction
And i know that the engine sound is ment to change when i disconnect the vacuum from the turbo this time it didnt
Is the brakes powered by the vacuum function too?
The discs and pads are all good changed 2 months ago no leaks on any caliper as pressure is there pedal not dropping to the floor
Any one had a vacuum fail or know of the symptoms?
And if this is at fault how hard to fix thanks

My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
Never seen/heard of the brake vacuum pump fail on the 530 or 530D. However, there was a recall for the V8 cars for the vacuum pump failure. Might want to check with your main dealer and/or BMW itself, they may repair it as good will seeing that they tend to not want to kill their drivers (it's bad for their image)

hi mate i spoke to bmw they want it in there garage and will charge to diagnose the fault after diagnosing then they will say whether they will cover it
there is a common fault with the v8 12 they recalled these to change the vacuum pump as it fails and causes brakes to stop working and pedal will go hard
they didnt offer to do the v6's in this recall as they suffer from the same fault
mine is a v6 530d i know there is no vacuum suction in the turbo vacuum hose or egr vacuum hose which has cuased the brake booster not to fuction as it needs vacuum from vacuum pump
im sure i cant be the only person to have this issue
bmw are not helpfull they want money to look at it and will prob charge too to change part and not help out
i seen online people had crashes due to this issue of brake failing thank god i wasnt on a motorway at the time

I have removed the pipe connecting to the vacuum pump this same pipe feeds to turbo actuator and rgr valve and other bits
I started engine and put my finger on the front of the pump and it gives just two pulses of suction and lets go is this enough?
I tried to put a cloth in front of it and it cant even suck that into the hole
Does seem like it is meant to be like this and is it failed
When i open the engine oil cap i hear the noise of the pulses of suction through there with the vacuum pump pipe disconnected
