Exclamation

Just finished painting the calipers, attached are some pics, there's a before and after of the rear wheels, I forgot to get before pics of the front. I used the Dupli-Color kit you can find at Advance Auto stores. I couldn't find the black color so I bought it online at Amazon.com. My fonts had a lot od surface rust which is why I did it. My only suggestion is to use a better brush, I bought one from Home Depot for $1.29 which was still way better than the junk that comes in the kit. Let me know what you think or if anybody has questions.

Looks good. I have the same problem. Everyhting seems to be rusting. Why do these cars have such cheap looking calipers? What kind of prep work was involved to ensure no pint on the pads/rotors? Did you remove the pads?

I used a hydraulic 2-ton rolling jack, you could do it with the one that came with the car but I would also use some sort of fixed stand while your working.

No I didn't remove the pads or calipers, I did use considerable amounts of tape to keep any paint from getting on the pads/rotors, I also used a smaller brush to get the small spots and avoid any paint dripping.

I painted the calipers on my x5 red... i would say thats a nice color as well...but just to make a suggestion, you could jack the car up and put it on a couple wooden blocks, it would probably make things easier..

n e ways, lookin at those pics i might just go ahead and do the ones on my 5 series black as well.. NICE JOB!!
