Sorry to reply on this old thread, but I was hating the thought of paying $350 to upgrade my angel eyes to the V3 iBrights. But then I saw this link from depeche2007 and these ones are only $89 + $15 shipping? How do these compare to the Angel iBrights V3? Are these ones a closer match to iBrights V2? I'd rather pay $100 than $350. Any help would be great.
Wait... you could afford a M5 but want to cheap it on some knock-off angel eyes?

If you don't want to shell out for the AiB's, you could always pick up a set of umnitza Predator ICE. I think they run for about $200 when you catch them on sale.

I didn't know those eBay ones where 'cheap' knockoffs, seeing that other members of this board have purchased the ones that were listed. So what about the Umnitza Predator ICE vs. the AiB V3? The Umnitzas are for $200 on their site, and the AiB's are $350. So which of the two are the better buy? Sorry to beat a dead horse!

They are about the same in terms of brightness. Predator ICE is brighter based off output measured against a wall, while AiB's are brighter visually. Supposedly with Predator ICE V2.1, umnitza's was able to make some adjustments to the LED lenses to make output appear brighter.

It's all rather subjective. Both are great products, you can't go wrong with either.

Just did AIB v3.0's myself without removing the headlight assembly. Once I got the left one done, the right was a snap. Due to the learning curve, the left took about 40 minutes, the right took 15! I used some longer needle nose pliers as well as some normal pliers. I scratched up the old ones a bit, but who cares (they are real junk). And it was actually very easy to pop the new ones in and give that slight turn to tighten.

For those of you considering taking off your entire headlight assembly, forget it...not necessary. Just remove the radiator cover with a torx 25 bit and a drill to give you more room to move. That part was real easy!

And whalla, all done.

I also did my FOGS today with Hoen lights recommended by C's Bimmer (pics 5 & 6: left OEM, right HOEN). Give a look!

Thanks to all those who gave me advice, like Calton and JRV550i (whose DIY above was great!) and others who posted DIY's in the past!

Some before and after's....
Do we need to buy 2 pairs (total of 4 bulbs) or only one pair(2 bulbs) to cover both driver and passanger side?

Thanks

One pair of the AIB's. Also, I just saw the Predator Ice eyes yesterday on a friends car who just had them installed and I have to admit that they are no comparison to the AIB's. The AIB's are whiter and look brighter. They're more money, but well worth it IMHO. Keep in mind that I have Version 2's of the AIB's, when they now have Version 3's out. Anyway, just one pair will do. Each bulb will light up both rings on each side. Once you open up the light housing, you'll see how it all works.

Has anyone installed the 'Dash' LEDs as per the pictures below. I'm a total novice and would like some help. I have the self levelling Xenons on a Sept 2004 model. From what I have read you may need to remove the entire light to be able to gain access whilst others use an extended pair of pliers.

If i just want to replace the existing bulb is there a low cost part for that, like an h7 bulb or something that goes in that housing? Or is this something you have to buy a whole assembly to replace anyway?
