I have a 2008 528i (LCI), but I don't have navigation. I have read a lot of posts on how to retrofit navigation into pre LCI e60s, but I have seen anything about adding navigation into a 2008 and higher model year. Has anybody researched this and found out yet. I haven't checked with my dealer yet if it can be done.

Thanks,
Todd

I think its almost the same you have to change display then CD unit(m-ask) to CCC with dvd, jump the cables for CCC fan in the back then change the mouse(con) and programming.

This may be too late for you, but i was warned/advised to just purchase an E60 with navigation and avoid the hassle of trying to retrofit one. I've heard all types horror stories about E60 owners attempting this retrofit. The few that were successful said that they still could not get the navigation to work %100.

I ended up buying a 550i with all the features i wanted under full warranty, no regrets.

Brilliant! thanks Sanj,

Did you get any part nos off the parts you got from ebay?
My e61 SE was specced by original owner with loads of extras but nothing in the audio / nav area and everyone I've asked so far say it can't be done - but your post has given me hope of ditching tomtom in favour of OEM nav as I have with previous VAG cars...
I'll give Rob a shout about the install.

Thanks again
