Hi e60 forum members!!,

As most of you here at the forum know, I am a car collector and will begin entering car show here in the Atlanta areas and I own a like new 2004 Tit. Silver, BMW 530i, E60 M5 Replica, (BMW Paint #354 - SEE BELOW), and I wax my BMW, and it looks good but when I run my hand across it, it don't feel smooth like it once did. I used an over the counter at Walmart, (LOL), Maguire cleaner type wax and it feels now somewhat better, then I applied my Pinnacle Expensive car wax over it, and I got a much better smoothness like I want, but it is not quite there yet, and just wonder if you might have some suggestions, to get it smooth as a baby's butt again, and that deep clean shine that I am looking for too!

By the way my BMW has 29,000 miles and stays in my garage almost all the time ever since I bought in new in 2004, (I have a second car I drive to work to keep my mileage down on my BMW and my second car the Sonata that catches the dings and things in parking lots of the inconsiderate idiots, (LOL of other peoples nice cars which can become a "Crime Against Persons Unit" at the CCPD if I could ever catch them doing it to me, and take out a warrant on them, and I would when it cost us BMW owners $500.00+ to paint one entire BMW door, for one or two little dings!)

I also own a 2004 Jaguar S Type Topaz color that sits next to my BMWS in the garage and it paint is SMOOTH, while my Titanium silver is not!! What causes this?.

Which was do you recommend me using for my BMW, (T. Silver) and my Jaguar (Topaz), is best to buy two waxes or can I get the same effect and get by of buying one? Is Zymbol a good wax? If so which one should I purchase, and where from?

Please email me at Presley348@aol.com with your reply, and Thank you for your time!!

Sincerely,

R. Eddie Presley

I can get you the Zymol however I think you would be better off using a polisher/orbital and some good polishes first , prep the car by washing/claying /polishing and then put a good coat of wax on it.

LMK if you need any assistance.

As phil said, prep is the key to bring your car look slickness, glossy..etc. I'd say prep is 95% and the wax is only 5%.
If your car don't feel smooth, it means you will need some claying, meguairs quick clay kit should be found in your local wel-mart store, but make sure you polish and wax/seal after claying.

Zym0l concours if you want to stick with this brand, otherwise swissvax concourso will be my choice.

Thanks Keith and Phil also,

By the way, how much should this "clay" and "wax" cost me $$$$ all together? The cheapest Zymol I found was $49.00, and goes all the way up to: 100.00, 200.00, 350.00, 500.00 $1,900.00 with lifetime refills (FREE refills after shelling out 1,900 just for some damn wax!!, gee thanks!!! LOL Sounds like BMW dealers that are well overpriced, but worth it, ...my BMW dealer dont give us lifetime anything FREE, just FREE bottled water, ((with their name on it!!!)), and fresh but fatting doughnuts here in Atlanta! LOL)!!!

They have a Zymol starter kit for $133.00, at AutoAnything.com, (Is that Zymol starter kit a over kill and hype, or is it worth it?). I have heard of "claying" a cars finish before but never done that before, and just how long does this car "claying" take, and how hard is it to "clay" the car, and what are some of the things I should watch out for when doing it?

Now tell me a little about swissvax concourso? What is it cast? What makes it better than Zymol, and where can I buy it at?

Thanks in advance!!

Personally, i wouldnt go with the starter kit, there are many other waxes look better and last longer that the Carbon wax (Came with the starter kit),

What claying actually does is using the gentlest way to remove the bonded contaminants eg three sap, industrial fallout... that normal car wash cant be remove, it will take about 30-40mins to clay a medium sized car like our e60, make sure you spray plenty of quick detailer when claying to reduce the chance of marring. It might sounds hard to you now but you will realise how easy it works when you get there (again, plenty of QD as lube to reduce the chance of marring)

Swissvax Concourso is slightly cheaper than Zym0l concours (But slightly smaller), in terms of look, its hard to judge which one is better, they both are very good wax, but SV concourso got my vote as it gives the paint a bit more wetness (Cos i bought one)

PM pyiu(phil) and he will sort you out which will be more suitable for your cars, but again, prep is the key

Yes hit me up I don't think the starter kit is the way to go either.

Hey Keith and Phil THANKS a million, for the first time I went to wal-mart and purchased their Mothers wax clay thing kit for 15.00, and thought I would just give it a try, and I did and WOW it worked great and I just finish doing my entire car and it look and feels real smooth, like brand new again, and just think before this E60 forum; you and Phil enlighten me to the clay thing, and then buy some good wax, but I was totally disgusted, and I was about to take it to a paint and body shop, but you guys saved me a bunch of money and I do appreciate it!!
