Hey guys,
I just found a scratch, about 4 inches long on the wood trim near the idrive controller knob ( I was holding a can, it slipped and landed there). Is there a safe way to fix it? Any advise will be appreciated. By the way, it catches my fingernail
Thanks,

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.
Ouch, sounds harsh. If you could get a pic up that would be better.
In the meantime, if you can, try wet sanding it with some 1000grit sandpaper. If that doesn't get it out, or at least not enough to your liking, then you could go down to ~700 but I wouldn't do much lower than that. After the 1K grit, use some 1500 grit and then hit it with some good polish/compound to smooth it all out.
