Windsheild cleaner - Bug residue, white spots on long drive

Guys,

What do you use to keep windshield nice and clean.. rest of my car is mostly clean, except the front windshield. I drive a lot, so it always has some white spots, bugs etc.. Just wiping w/ water at gas stations doesn't clean it

You can buy auto glass/windshield stripper at some auto shops. I have also used a light abrasive paint cleaner.

Howz it different from Rain-X? Is there some kinda polish/coating you can buy, so these don't stick so often
