My Ride: 2005 E60 530i Steptronic Mystic Blue No mods yet...

Hi guys!

My 530 is Mystic Blue colored, and it's coated with Teflon.

Everytime I wax my car, I get awful streaks on the surface!!
I bought a Maguairs round applicator and carefully waxed it, and I still get streaks!
I tried Mothers Quick Polish spray thing later, and the streaks won't go away..

I heard from other forums that Teflon coated car shouldn't be waxed. True??
And my dealer said never wash the car with soap or it will come off. Is this true too???

Thanks ~~

Our car is Teflon coated to i think ? It's called DITEC, and it works very well! The point with the Teflon treatment is, you should not wax the car!!

Our car looks great even after one year after the last treatment, men I don't know if I will have teflon coated next time... I actually like to vax it when I really wants the car to look like brand new...

The best thing with this teflon coated car: it's so easy to wash it

Actually Dupont Teflon is ineffective unless its been heated to over 600 deg's. Sorry guys, what you have is probably a Polymer protectant with teflon in it. Dupont doesnt even recommend it for use on vehicle surfaces.....You need to try a light grade olish, if the streaks are the only issue.
One other thing, if the dealer said not to use soap when washing, i wouldnt think 'whatever" it is on the surface isnt very protective!
