We always discuss all the different detailing products used to take all the dirt, stains and waterspots away and restore a deep protective and shiny coat, but what about the water that is used to wash the car?

Do home water softners help or hurt in any way? Will a softer water cause less water spots? Are there any disadvantages to using soft water?

Soft water leaves less stops. I don't think it makes any difference damage wise on the car. Some citys use soft water.

those of you located in the States can take advantage of http://www.crspotless.com/

I've read several good reviews of this system and I'd buy it if I could get one here in the UK!

Where I live the tap water is so clean it doesn't leave any spots!

Doesn't it suffice to dry the car with a synthetic cloth?
