you can safely polish 35-40 times... more than enough to last the ownership of the car. of course, the more often you use the abrasive polish you'll naturally lower that count. but once you get a real nice correction, youll be just maintaining with light polish. so shine away!

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

Jet Black is really difficult to get right, but when you do it looks stunning. And my experience was that it had a very hard clear coat, so once you got it looking good it was easier to keep up with. Sapphire Black, on the other hand, seems much softer - which makes it easier to polish but really difficult to maintain.

Since you just polished it a few weeks ago, I would think that another final polishing with something like Meguiars Mirror Glaze #205 Ultra Finishing Polish won't peel off much clear coat - you should be fine.
