My Ride: '05 545 Titanium Silver, Black Leather - Nav, Logic 7, Cold weather.
Mods:
Carbon filter removed.
M5 iDrive knob.
Umnitza license plate LEDs.
MP3
40% 3M tint
ACS Anti-Roll(sway) bars
RPI Scoop
G-tech Pro RR
CF Roundels
CF Wheel caps

Saddle soap is also supposed to be a good way to clean leather. I also heard the "Magic Eraser" formaldehyde-melamine-sodium bisulfite copolymer foam (if you want to be technical) is also good at removing the unwanted shine from leather.

Would leather conditioner work as a sealant? I'm learning so much today.

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

I think he meant a conditioner of some sort, that soap will remove all the essential oils and nutrients in the leather.
I tried this out on my car, but with a different soap and didn't have nearly as good results as you did. So I tried using some Leatherique pristine clean with a cotton terry cloth and it worked like a charm. Plus it left some conditioners for the leather
