So I usually have my car detailed but would like to start detailing it my self but really have no knowledge of what products are good. Can anyone recommend some good starter products to wash and wax my car and any other products that would work well? Thanks everyone.

Meguair's makes an excellent line-up of products. I'm a big Zaino fan.
Check out Detailing Bliss for all kinds of how-to's on proper detailing.
Good luck, have fun, and show us your results!

There is just so many products out there and many are great. Your question is almost impossible to answer. It's like saying what car is the best.
Also how much you want to spend??? How deep into detailing you want to go? You looking mainly to just wash, clay, glaze, and wax?
Some of the better products for the money are Megs. products, Duragloss, Finish Kare, ClearKote, Poorboys, Chemical Guys, Collinite waxes, and Zaino. All are fairly inexpensive and all will give you excellent results.
