My Ride: 2005 545i E60 Orient Blau Metallic
Premium, NAV, Winter Package, Heads Up Display, Logic 7 Audio, AngeliBright Upgrade [White], M5 Body Kit, M Embroidered Seats
So -- as the topic title reads -- my 05 545i has seen it's share of highway related debris and the lights are very gently scuffed on the surface. is there a product that can get rid of this haze and scratchy area? this is even more noticeable in the nights when the xenon bounces off the interior of the plastic housing and you can see the scratches/hazes clearly...
help make her look new again!

I use a Porter cable with a dedicated orange ccs pad and Meg's PlasticX. It is cheap and works great! Then finish it off with plexus for protection. Also, be sure to mask off your paint.

I had several deep gashes in my lights from rocks etc. I have a plexi glass fish aquarium and easily scratches, so when at the fish store I asked what they had to remove scratches and they sold me a plexi glass scratch remover kit made by Pentair Pool Products/ Rainbow Lifegard Aquatics out of El Monte, CA about $39.00. They have been using this type of pad and abrasive patches in the aircraft industry for years. There are abrasive patches that from 1,500 grit to 12,000 that have some sort of soft cushioning layer crystal and you use a foam sanding block. So you start with the heavier grit and sand in vertical direction then move up to next grade and sand in horizontal direction and so on, then finish with polishing cloth and liquid. I spent about 2 hours per light because I sanded the entire lense to make sure there were no tell tale gaps where I didnt sand. Then I buffed with plastic x and worked great. All the road rash is gone.
