ok guys, especially you hot shot photog's.....i'm just learning! but in all honesty, i welcome any and all comment & suggestions on shooting better pix!

the pics look great overall but i posted a thread about how to take good pics once and only one guy responded. one important thing he said that i can see in ur pics is always make sure the sun is behind u i guess that makes sense when u look at the one before the last pic? i think thats the nicest

It looks good. Yes its hard to keep the light gray colors from washing out. Here's an example where the sun was practically behind me but there's still an issue.
One other note: I just noticed the dark area in the woods behind the car. The camera tried to expose that for more detail and washed out the side of the car.
You could try a few tricks if the camera can do it. One, pre-focus and expose pointing directly to the car and recompose. Or two, set a spot exposure and have the camera expose on the car only. Lastly, the sun was at such an angle, the front will appear much darker than the side. You can turn on flash to brighten the front. Of course, the pros use a large reflector to throw light where they want it.
PS: I've known photography and all the techniques for years but in the heat of the moment I still overlook details like that and just snap away. But I can then spot all of the mistakes in pictures later.
