Will BMW honor you're warranty if you paint the rotors

My 2005 525i has the same issue. The car has 11,000 miles on it and all 4 hubs (part that touchs wheel) are rusty. The calipers are also discolored a light brown color. This is not normal. I have a 00 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the hubs look brand new. My entire hubs are rusty, very rusty, it's very visible -- I am not a happy camper. I am going to take my car in for service and have them re-paint the areas. The question is, will they? Will BMW honar the warranty by re-painting the hubs?

I use Meguires hot wheel cleaner on my rims, I also spray the hubs with this, after 4 months & winter weather, no rust.

I am a detailer. I have various wheel cleaners that are acid based, and non-acid based. I never use acid based wheel cleaners on clear coat wheels, the other non-acid wheel cleaners I use are safe. I have not clenaed my wheels in 3 months now during the winter, only pressure washed without a wheel cleaner. Rust still continues to form.

I dont think Meguires is acid based, but I leave it on for 15 seconds, and rinse well. It really HELPS.

Ferarrislave, I had the same problem. My dealer said it was "normal". They actually gave me a card for the body shop they use to have them painted (thanks... but I used my own shop).

That looks perfect, I wrote a letter to BMW NA -- they of course played stupid and said it was completly normal that their paint pre-maturely failed and flaked away after 4,000 miles. I am done trying with them. I am going to take it to a shop.

BTW, how much did you pay for the job if I may ask.

I use Meguiars Wheel Brighter (new formula). I can just spray and pressure wash and the wheels are almost perfect.

On my Boxster I have really nice cross drilled breaks on all four wheels. I have small rust spots that have cropped up. The dealer says this is normal. I will try the meguires to see if it helps.
