This is my second jet black 5 series and what was I thinking! Ah, my wife reminds me. the black are the coolest looking bimmers.
I have bought a couple of quick detailers and wanted advice on any that have a long lasting protective effect and repel dust. I have a Meguiars (rated a C-) and I have a Poorboys Quick wax, a bit better with a slicker feel but does not seem to last too long. Both detailers clean a dusty or lightly dirty car pretty quickly if using micro fiber.
Now I am noticing a PTFE (teflon) based dry carwash/detailer that claims five years of shiny protection. Ok my BMW brethren, who will recommend a quick spray detailer? I am looking for ease of application and shiny protection. Thanks!

The two I use are Zaino Grand Finale (which I got as part of the three pack with Zaino All-In-One and Clear Seal) and Turtle Wax Ice. Both are excellent on my monaco blue 550 and my 911 (which is midnight blue). The Zaino performs as expected, biggest surprise was the Turtle Wax Ice detail spray which to me seems just as good as the Zaino. I use a california duster to take off all the loose surface crap then finish up with the detail spray.

The best I've used so far has got to be Zymol, but I tried TurtleWax Ice for the first time and it was pretty good too, although I do not know how long it will last. Usually you can see the quality after about 3 washes. I would recommend TW Ice paste polish kit and the detailer spray.

My father shows porsche 356s at the highest level in the world (he was best of show about 10 years back at the west coast 356 holiday, car also won several national PCA events) and swears by the following:

Griot's Garage

and

Mother's California Gold

There's a lot of hype on here about zaino, rejex, etc etc.

Most of the "pros" (people who do full concour cars, etc) use Griot's and (even) Production.
