Its finaly here I pick up my car tommorow and want to wax the car so Im wondering when I get it tommorow should I first use a clay bar and take off the factory wax or outer layer or should I just go ahead and wax it with the meguiars wax that I have and seal in the paint seeing how its supposed to rain friday here.

I would go for the latter.... if you really feel better about putting a coat of wax on...
You can always clay bar and wax later when you have time (and the weather is better).
BTW I find the best way to wax is indoors in a garage over a weekend so you can put on many coats and leave it cure for longer

Once you get to the US, try Zaino products, they are great!!!! I've heard that they are quite expensive in EU.

As long as you don't wax the door gaskets.

If you wax the door seals, the famous squeaks will come out!

Clay bar is a waste of time, it removes contaminants from the paint, yours will not have any, it will be squeeky clean.

Enjoy.

It's brand new. Don't even think of using a clay bar. Get some Rejex and just wipe it on and rub it off. Hurry...Rejex will prevent any water marks from staining your new car!

I too orderd my car, and when i got it from the dealer, it had a fair bit of contaminents. So I clayed, used dawn and then waxed....

Dont forget, the car crosses the atlantice ocean and only has the roof and hood covered, so it has plenty of time to get airborne particles all over it....

It wont hurt to clay and have an absolutely pristine car to apply your wax !

tks

Clay baring and waxing later is a bad idea.. clay bar strips the paint of its wax.. so when u clay bar your paint is left unprotected.. on colors like white you can get away with that.. but personally wouldn;t do that.. and i detail cars as part time job
