Hi there;

This is for the folks in northern climates.

What do you do to prepare your car for winter?

For example, do you rust-proof your car? In Canada we have Rust-check.

Clearly I'm going to need snow tires.

Anything else?

Thanks.

I would give it a good coat of wax.... :whistle:

Yeah, we're preparing too. Sunroof only open mid day. Sorry guys, but So.Cal is just the best.................Even today with overcast skies, light mist all day.I feel very fortunate to be living in a wonderful climate.

I did make sure tires inflated correctly today, and did a 2 step wax:Zaino Polish then yellow carnuba. Car looks great. Lucky to have a big garage to work in.

Set up the Halloween decorations, have a new skeleton sticking up in the front lawn, plus the usual pumpkins, spider webs, etc.

Tough to really appreciate what many of you are gearing up for.

All I do to prepare for winter down here is to throw my umbrella in the car. I will never miss the snow as long as I live (having grown up in upstate NY).

I just finished doing mine - a good hand wash with turtle zip, then a wax with turtle wax "wax it wet", then a coat of "turtle clear gloss sealant", then finished off with half a bottle of turtle "clearvue" - which i don't buff.

The protection will last until spring!

When winter comes in full strength i garage my car (wich obviously is the best protection) use a car cover, and use more my passat 4 motion with snow tires. Now that's traction :))))))). 4wd in the snow means 4wd fun. Winter for me is like wrc style and summer wtcc. :D :D Kiddin'
