My Ride: 2005 530i Premium Package

My attempt to fool everybody that this is a new E60

The car is a 2005 530i with about 105,000 miles. Previous owner had the front end repainted so the rock chips are minimal. The paint was in good shape but had a lot of swirls and RIDS and just didn't have the pop in the paint. It was waxed a couple weeks ago but I wanted to do a full paint correction. I managed to get around 90% out but it's my daily driver so I wasn't looking for perfection.

Process:

Wash 2 bucket Dawn
Wheels washed with Megs APC 4:1
Tires and wheel wells with Megs Super Degreaser 4:1
Brushed with EZ Detail, tire brush, foam sponge, Swissvax Wheel Brush

Old waxed removed in crevices with P21S TAW and Swissvax Wheel Brush.

Brought it in under 2 500w Halogens and Brinkmann

Blue Magic Clay with ONR

Exterior correction done with PC 7424XP
IPA 50/50 Wipedown on eash phase
Megs 105 with Uber Orange Speed 5 2 passes
Megs 105 with Megs 4" Burgundy on tight spots
Megs 205 with Uber Blue Speed 4 1 Pass
Megs 205 with Megs 4" Yellow
Washed to remove compound dust with ONR
Megs NXT 2.0 Wax by hand

Engine Cleaned with Megs Super Degreaser 10:1. Dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 4:1

Tires and wheels wells dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 2:1

Wheels treated with Armor All All-Wheel Protectant

Exterior Trim dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing 2:1

Glass treated with 3M Glass Cleaner

Exhaust tips cleaned with #0000 steel wool with M105 as lubricant

Looks great, if you really want to look brand new, get an mtech kit with some 19" rims and you'll have a really hot car.

For sure.. mtech kit, 19"s or 20" with a drop and shadowline trim will add years to the look. Definitely on the list

Dude, seriously. I did all of the above and people ALL think my car is a 2009+. I always say "yep, its an 09'". LOL. Its a 2004 with 90k miles!!!! The LCI tails really do the trick, too.
