Great job! Can the dust left over from compounding actually swirl the paint again if you don't wipe if all off before polishing?

Thanks Krozi !! Dust from compounding can cause micro marring. I use a compressor to give it a blow before polishing when using non diminishing and diminishing abrasives however if I don't have a compressor ( mobile ) I spray clay lube and lightly wipe the area down. Hope this helps. If you have more questions fire away.

Thanks nomis!!
That's what happened with me. I removed must of the dust, but still got some micro marring. How do you get rid of micromarring? Just a very fine polish?

Krozi after compounding and depending on the polish you will need one or two in between steps before laying on your LSP ( last step protection ).

For example say if you are going with Menzerna Power Gloss , I personally follow it up with Menzerna SIP then finish up with P085rd. Do you need the last step PO85rd? yes and no depends on the pads you use and the finish you desire.

If i'm using M105 on a pad I can finish down almost LSP ready but I usually follow it up with either PO85rd, M205 or Ultrafina.

There are different variables to consider. My suggestion would be to try different combination of pads with products and see which provide you with your best results keeping in mind your current skill level.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Nick
