I need to get my car detailed too. My car is black and you can see a whole bunch of swirls
Everyone (especially dark coloured car owners) should remember/understand, that the swirls are not caused only by machine washing.
Hand wash done wrong and low quality washing supplies cause swirls as well.
This day's car paints are so soft! You can see people sitting and leaning on their cars ! I would never do that. I don't even touch the paint between washes.
And with jet black... you shouldn't even watch it for too long ...

I recommend getting familiar with www.autopia.org and their guide articles for everyone.

Yes - that's right

The guy who detailed the car gave me a guide to avoid unnecessary damage to the paintwork. I've changed the way I wash my car now, ditched the sponge, got a nice lambswool mitt, and use two buckets. I even dropped the chamois for some pretentious synthetic towels lol. Let's see how it works out!

This why light colors are so farsighted, good looking and brainy

Actually, when you learn to find swirls, you see them everywhere, even on light coloured surfaces. And this is a fact.

I'm just back from a filling station, the lights at those places really can show up the swirls. The car looked incredible, deep shine and very crisp, not a sign of a swirl or scratch

Money well spent indeed!

Maybe, but not on my new car. Only carefully hand washed since it was born

Next week it's going for a winter protection waxing.
