This is my first actual paint work correction job. I've done couples before, but they have been all practising.

The victim now was a Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Brabus from the 1998 I guess. My friend's car. I hope he is happy with result.

My goal was the paint. Wheels, plastic parts, interior etc were secondary. After all, I am not a pro or expert anyhow in detailing, so I knew the job would take some time.

After a test panel I decided to go with Presta Ultra Cutting Creme. It bit quite well, but the hood needed two passes. Under the halogens the finish looked quite good, but I manage to catch the sun occasionally and got the confirmation that some hazy swirling was left (or caused by UCC). That wasn't a surprise though. I think I got a 95% correction of swirls. I'm satisfied.

The real problem was my Flex. The adhesive of the backplate started to get off everytime I tried to take the pad off. I had to glue the adhesive surface back on.

The process was:

Wash:
- AutoGlym Clean Wheels
- Turtle Wax Dissolvent Wash Spray
- Turtle Wax Big Orange Carwash Shampoo
- Zaino Z-18 Claybar
- Turtle Wax Big Orange Carwash Shampoo

Correction/Polish:
- Flex XC 3401 VRG
- Presta Ultra Cutting Creme + Mirka White Foam Pad (1-2 passes)
- Presta 1500 Polish + Mirka White Foam Pad
- Presta Swirl Remover + Edge Blue Waffle Pad

Wax + LSP:
- AutoGlym Super Resin Polish + Edge Black Foam Pad
- AutoGlym Liquid Hardwax
- Presta Spray N' Shine

Yeah, what are those, two pairs of pyjamas sewn together? The car does look great, however.

Oh man! I posted this story with the same pics to Detailing World too and got comments about my shorts there also !

Ok, they are hilarious. Old shorts that I decided to wear during the job.
