White is fairly low-maintenance. Just do the "normal" stuff like keep it washed and waxed. You don't need to do a bunch of extra stuff to keep it looking good...

Dude whites the least of your worries try keepin jet black clean now thats an occupation.. only thing about AW is that you gotta maintain the tar spots checkin them every 2-3 weeks or so should be fine taking some low cut polish and polishing it off then waxing it wil lget rid of the tar spots well the ones that haven't had time to bond to the paint, if you wanna really do a good job check once a week and yourr car should be AW for the rest of its duration good luck AW is such a nice color

thanks for all the replies... guess its going to be less 'detailing' since i'm coming from a "Black Magic" Passat...
what about teflons vs acrylics vs waxes etc.... is a sealant /paint protection system going to be helpful ? or am i better off with frequent (but less longer lasting) waxes ?

Well its mostly user preference.. carnauba waxes tend to shine better but have to be waxed more offten to keep its dazaling appeal.. polymers tend to not shine as weel but last longer.. its all depends White is a bright color always and really doesn;t always needs to be waxed so it can go either way..
