To those that live in areas with winters (snow), how do you keep your cars clean during the cold?
It seems a lot of you baby your cars and hand wash them with high quality soap and waxes.
But the question is: when the weather doesn't permit....what do you do ?
Resort to drive through car washes ?
Do you use high pressure or soft cloth car washes in the winter...or summer ? Unless you have a very large garage, I can't imagine anyone hand washing the car in the winter!
My dealership offers free car washes every Saturday all year round....the problem is, a lot of e60 owners claim that you should never let the dealer wash your car as they'll scratch it.
Are you guys that meticulous ?

Fortunately, my hose spigot is inside my garage, so I can wash the car right in the driveway when it gets chilly. Tho, I won't wash when it's below 40F... too damn cold. Rather be inside by the fire with a cognac thinking about the warmer months and the next layer of Klasse I can apply come springtime.

I use a hoseless wash system called QEW (Quick and Easy Wash) by Protectal. Since I do not use a hose unless the car is exceptionally dirty I can wash in almost any temperature.

i always hand wash...NEVER use a car wash/drive-thru.
if its up to 40F then its not that bad. if its snowy or the roads are salted, then i dont think theres a point of washing your car...it will get dirty within a couple of miles anyways, so if its blistery cold, then just live with it....much better to have a dirty car for a couple of weeks than have permanent scratches.
oh, and i put on 2 coats of collinite wax at the beginning of winter and it lasts thru all of winter no problem.
