How to safely remove smudge marks from headliner?
Well, I just happened to look at my headliner and now noticed some dirty fingerprints on it.
Any ideas how to safely remove them?
I've tried water on a paper towel and blotting it, it didn't work.
Resolve Carpet cleaner?
That's my next step.
Thanks!

If your dealer left them there, he should take care.
They have cleaning stuff for it, what they use when the car is a trade in and before it's going to be sold again...
Dunno what it is though...

After taking the car to them twice and being without it for a total of 7 business days, the only thing they have really fixed on my car is the cupholder (from the second visit). Oh and i've gotten v12 and v13 software.
My static in my radio is still there, even after they replaced the ASK unit. I'm assuming this is the MASK unit everyone talks about here.
The clicking noise I can hear from the front right bottom of the car is still there even after I demonstrated and confirmed the noise with the tech. They replaced the right front control arm. Didn't the guy hear the same noise after he replaced the wrong thing? Yes, he just didn't feel like doing MORE work on the car....
The rattling dash problem was never fixed. They wrapped the instrument cluster with a thin felt, then reinserted it. Problem is it still rattles. AND, you can see the felt along the bottom of the cluster. I shoved it in using a precision screwdriver, carefully, so you can't see it. You can still see the edges of the felt, a little bit.
Also, the car has a transmission (engine) hum at low speeds. I notice it, my wife notices it. This was deemed an 'operational characteristic'. Does anyone else notice this. It seems it's in the 0-50 mph range when you can hear the 'hum' as you're driving.
Then there's the funky transmission downshifting that occurs at strange times, mostly when you hit the brakes hard. BAM, a HARD downshift... This could be normal. I think a lot of people here on this board are complaining about their transmission.
Not to mention several small dings and nicks on my car that I know the dealer put on my car, along with the smudges on the headliner. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any of these things until AFTER leaving the dealer, usually during cleaning of the car.
And add in the fact that my first service visit to these people included giving my car away to the wrong person who drove it out of town and put 372 miles on it! I was compensated but obviously was not too thrilled.
Ok, sorry for the ranting. I just am now frustrated, and to the point where I would like to handle any problems I can, on my own.
I just don't know what to do at this point with this dealer. It just makes me cringe any time I think about having to deal with those people. Should I just take it to another dealer, 60 miles away? Or continue to deal with these people who make my life miserable?
I have same problem with you last time I upgraded my software. There are a lot of black fingerprints on the headliner. I called the supervisor and he quickly drove the car back to the store and cleaned it. It only took about 5 minutes.
take it back to dealer just for a while.

Thanks.
I would clean my headliner with Varsol. It is a good degreaser. Go to Clusty.com and search for Varsol. You will discover info like:
ExxonMobil Chemical's aliphatic specialty products are well suited for a variety of applications including agriculture, consumer products, paint & coatings, graphics & reproduction and many other industrial uses. Their properties provide unique benefits as solvents, dispersants and carriers that formulators will appreciate.

acribb, sorry to hear your story :'(. sounds like the same guy running your dealer and my dealer
. my dealer sucks as well
. but it's a little better now after i complained to the president
. anyway, i know you don't want to go back to the same dealer but if you do next time, make sure you check your car completly before you drive off the lot. i had them remove a small scratch (i think they waxed and polished it) but actually it was there before i took it in
. normally when you take your car in, you talk to the service advisor. he/she doesn't even bother to check your car but just writes up your work order. what you can do when you pick up your car is tell them those dings and nicks were not there before. they have to do something about it
. also all the dirty fingerprints on the headliner. btw, 7 business days w/cupholder fixed and s/w updated is pretty good compare to mine. mine sat there 11 days and they only used a cleaner to wipe one of the wipers, nothing else
! if i didn't call them on the 11th day, who knows how long more i have to wait

Cleaning it, heck i just got my dealer to replace it and the front window surronds as the liner was bubling off, my wife a had gotten makeup on the passenger side, and i had a little bubbling on it also so i got them to replace it. It is spanking clean and i also have no more squeeks and rattles go figure.
