I can't really tell from the pic ...

Are you sure it's painted? Could it be a sticker?
Post close up pics when you get a chance.

I'd have a go at it with some clear-coat polishing compound. Are you sure it's paint? There are some very good decal-like products out there. To check, borrow a hot air gun and carefully see if you can soften it enough to peel it off.

It goes without saying, don't use any kind of paint thinners or removers!!

well i took a few more pictures. its definitely paint when i scratch at it with my finger nail its very hard. plus i think parts of it are way too fine to be a sticker. i dont think gasoline will take it off but i can try if you guys think it might work.

Cool to see that a car from LI made it all the way to Ohio. We got my wifes old e46 from Oysterbay and they did the same thing. I had it removed by a local detail shop. I would try some nail polish remover, but then again, I know nothing about detailing...

I know this is an old topic. dont know where you stand with this issue. I find it very difficult to believe they painted their dealer info onto the car. i have NEVER heard of that in my years of detailing in my previous life...

i would go at it CAREFULLY with a plastic razor blade and some "Never Dull" made by eagle one if it is in fact a sticker.
