I'll check my car to see if it has the same problem. That's quite interesting.

Jimbo, he only had it 3 days. I don't think that is enough time to change cleaning supplies.

Well, I have the same thing and my car is currently in Service right now. I mentioned the rust on the calipers and the center of my discs and he said, quote, and I quote "This is normal, there is nothing we can do about this". I even asked him twice "So you're telling me this is normal and you won't do anything about it", and he said the same thing both times.

It looks like i'm going to have to paint them myself..... At least with my dealer....

I guess it is normal. Many of us have it. I take my wheels off every 3 months for a good cleaning and i scrub that off. Get marine gelly. it cleans the rust right off.

i just found out i have the same problem on all four wheels . i talked to my service advisor yesterday while my car needed to do the emission recall (s/w update, ver 13.2). he told me the same thing, "it's normal." i really wanted to ask if it's normal, why some have this problem but some don't? but i'm not knowledgable enough to challenge a dumb service advisor :'(. i don't want to play "dumb & dumber" . oh, forgot to say, he didn't even know what version software my car installed . i made him to ask the tech. i asked him about mp3 and he told me it's ok to play mp3 but i told him that's not true. he told me only certain cdr are ok but when i told him all e60 have the same problem, no mp3. then he said, "oh, really? i'm not too sure about this." wtf !
