Keith, when you say (Max: 5.0)... do you mean on a scale from 0-5? Also, do you recommend that I get 3.02, 106FF and 85RD? Can I just use 3.02 and a light cutting pad to simulate what 106FF would do?

rj, I think you need to seal first, then wax.

Yes, scale 0-5.

and another yes, i would recommend you get all three cos they have different cut and gloss.
But if u don't want to spend too much on polish, get 3.02 and 106FF, as i found 85RD are too mild for our paint.
(It all depends on the condition of the paint e.g very very light swirls i will go with 85RD first, then 106ff if it's not success........so it all depends)

Could do 3.02 on light cutting pad but u won't get the gloss from 106FF So, still recommend 3.02 and 106ff!

Polishing is the most important part of the detailing cos it determines the shineness of the car, so it is well worth to spend on it

So does the 85RD give that much deeper gloss than the 106FF? I have a Jet Black E60, just in case you missed it in my sig.

And what color pads do you recommend? Like I said, the paint on my car has minor spider webbing, so I don't think I'll need much cutting/correction for that. But my headlights need moderate to heavy correction.

Thanks for all your help!

Im completely stopped using Edge pads, they are horrible.

I only shop for a couple of places and DD.com is one of them. They have stuff you cant get anywhere else, great pricing and awesome service. (no I am not affliated w them )

IMO
RD gives the SAME gloss as FF. FF has more CUT. There has been argument that RD has a higher gloss but personally I disagree.

In terms of pads, I use 2 colors. White and Orange. Anything MORE I go to purple wool.
I like the old school full surface pads but those are discontinued so I use the LCC

So tell me if I got this right.

3.02 with orange pad.
106ff with white pad.
JetSeal with black pad?

I found this quite useful and this should add to ur favourite list

It's an abrasiveness chart for compounds/polishes/glazes and pads reference at the bottom.
