dirty rims...?it is because of the brakes pads

I noticed that my rims get dirty really fast. I did not know that the brakes are exposed too proparly causing the rims to get dirty quicker. Is there anyway we can prevent or reduce this from happening?

Aftermarket brake pads will solve your dirty wheels issue or at least alleviate most of the pain. A couple companies that offer them for the E60: Axxis, EBC, Porterfield. Do a search on the forums and it will return a wealth of information regarding low dust brake pads. Good luck!

Aftermarket brake pads might have less brake dust, but OEM pads are soft and work the best with the rotors. Having said that, I'm replacing my stock AMG pads b/c they freaking squeal with less than 6K miles on the odometer. And there's no way I'm taking the E63 to the dealer to get this fixed. Too paranoid.

so what do u guy suggest we do about the break pads?
should we change them at the dealer, or aftermarket? having said oem are soffter and better but dustier
is the aftermarket as good as the oem?

In my experience with aftermarket brake pads like Axxis, they didn't grab as well as OEM.

You don't need to go to dealer to get OEM brake pads installed. Why don't you just buy the pads at the Parts department and take the car to a independent shop for the install?

the thing is,im in a country full of idiots and people that cannot be trusted AT ALLLLL!!!!
if the car is above 2000 model, they do not know how to fix it unless u go to a pro,who is as a big rip off as the dealer, so better to go to the dealer.
is theere a DIY for pads,maybe i can save about 50$ by chaning them myself.
