cyclo, ultimate detail machine or something else like makita?

converting from do the car by hand guy to orbital guy. my detailer highly recommends the cyclo with dual heads. says its pretty idiot proof and i am an idiot. i also hear ultimate detail machine is very good.
curious on thoughts on these and others for a novice who is tired of doing it by hand.

Buy a Flex. Excellent machine, but prep it properly before using it - look on the net for threads about putting oil on the felt ring, etc.
Basically you'll want to put a light coat of mineral oil on the felt ring behind the backing plate. When you re-attach it, make sure it's secured, as from the factory those backing plates are prone to failure, being loose, then shredding and melting themselves apart.
Great machine if you get it right though.

my detailer buddy swears by the cyclo but seems many votes here in favor of the flex. i am guessing i can't go wrong with either both are pretty close on price.
seems like their are more options for pads with flex than cyclo? i am going to do a little more homework then get one and take it to my wifes honda before it touches the 5er.
my wife is worried the garage is going to turn into the neighborhood detail shop
i have always taken good care of our cars but i think its time to step up and into the orbital world. i am going to do a practice run with clay (my car is new so i don't think i need to clay yet) polish then wax

i'm thinking of going with the Griot's Garage Random Orbital, but i'm worried about a couple of things.
1. can i use any pad with this machine or do i have to buy the griot pads?
2. should i buy it with the polishes in the kit or buy the polishes and waxes somewhere else?

so my detailer friend did some work this weekend on my car trying to get water spots out. he brought his polishes and his cyclo with him. he had me give it a try. very easy to use. i liked the action on the thing. very easy to balance and to move across the hood. i see rave reviews on the flex but i think i am going to go with the cyclo. will get some pics when i do my first work.
